May 20th - Esperanto Sunday.
This looks like any Sunday get together but it was actually quite unique. Today all the Esperanto speakers of Dordogne got together (there were more than you can see on the photo!). My husband is one of them & I must admit I wasn’t really looking forward to it as I thought it was going to be a little like a geek convention!
I actually had really nice afternoon & there was the added bonus that it was held at a violin makers house who showed us a little of his trade. Just beautiful.
May 19th - Lonely
Since my two eldest have moved away for job and apprenticeship our youngest is lonely. She was/is very close to her big brother and sister and them moving away really hit her hard. It became even more apparent today when she came out of the bedroom after making a friend to play with. Really wish we’d made a little brother or sister for her now :(
Oh and why she put on a party dress to tidy her bedroom I don’t know!
May 18th - Get well cuddles
You can’t really see it on this photo but the cat on the left (Vanille) is poorly. She got into a fight with a stray cat & had her tail badly bitten. Had to take her to the vets today to get it cleaned up as it had become infected. Her brother on the right (Chocolat) sensed she isn’t feeling right and has been cuddling her since she got back.
Also at vets 8 year old daughter fainted at the sight of the wound being cleaned! Been a hectic week, looking forward to sleeping tomorrow.
May 17th - Happy Birthday/Anniversary Today it’s hubbie’s birthday & also our wedding anniversary. It was his choice to get married on his birthday because he said like that he was sure he’d never forget it! We’re celebrating at a local chinese restaurant as hubbie is a vegan & in France it’s one of the only places where we can actually eat. (Taken with Instagram at Royal Marsac restaurant chinois)
May 14th & 15th - ER
I haven’t taken a photo this past two days for various reasons. 1) I had to rush my daughter to A&E yesterday evening as her face had swollen up and she was in horrendous pain. Turned out to be an infected ulcer on her gum due to one of the front teeth that had got broken last December and 2) I forgot to charge my phone up and my car charger has decided to die.
So this is a picture of one of my favourite pairs of shoes. I love shoes. I didn’t realise how much I rely on them for therapy either until today. After yesterday’s stress, sleepless night with little one because of pain and emergency visit to dentist today on the way home I found myself stopping off at all the shoes shops I knew. Like I said I love shoes.
May 13th - Odds and ends
Just picked my son up from where he stays whilst doing his apprenticeship. Strewn around the courtyard are various works they’ve produced for practice. I love trying to spot new works when I come here
May 12th - Water, balls & sun.
Love having Dad & stepmum here. They leave tomorrow so today we’ve chilled & chatted in the garden. Good weather’s finally here too so paddling pool & sun loungers have been brought out from hibernation too :-)
May 11th - Coffee table.
My coffee table often collects strange items but this week’s collection is stranger than usual. A slow cooker, wooden spoon & holder, ring, bonsaï tree, dog grooming kit, magazines & various books ranging from ‘the end is nigh’ doom a gloom books to French grammar & Dalai Lama books.
May 10th - mmm chocolate birthday cake :-)
May 9th - Sunny wait
Dad & stepmum are over for the week so little one stayed with them last night. I’ve now finished work and this where I’m picking her up from, Le Bugue. Temps are back up to high 20s. I’m wearing black trousers and melting.
